A prayer for anxiety

Father, my chest is tight and my thoughts won't stop. I've been carrying this on my own, and I can't put it down by myself. So I'm handing it to You now, the whole of it, even the parts I can't name.

You told us to bring everything to You instead of carrying it. Here it is. The fear about what might happen. The thing I keep replaying. The tiredness of being on guard all the time.

Slow my breathing. Quiet the noise. Put Your peace where the worry has been sitting, the peace that doesn't make sense but holds anyway. Remind me that You are not surprised by tomorrow, and that You will be there before I am.

I don't need every answer tonight. I need You close. Stay with me, and help me rest. In Jesus' name, amen.
