A prayer before sleep
The day is done, whether it went well or not. Before you close your eyes, hand it over. This prayer takes about a minute.
The prayer
Father, thank You for today. For the parts that were good, and for getting me through the parts that weren't.
Forgive me for the things I got wrong. The sharp words, the things I put off, the moments I forgot You were there. I leave them with You.
Take the worries I'm still carrying into bed. The conversation I'm replaying, the list for tomorrow, the thing I can't fix tonight. You give sleep to the people You love. Give it to me.
Watch over the people I love while they sleep. Keep them safe until morning. And wake me ready for whatever You have next. Amen.
