The prayer
Father, You know I need work. You know the bills that are coming and the nights I've stayed awake adding them up. I'm bringing all of it to You.
Open the right door. Close the wrong ones kindly, so I don't waste months pushing on them. When I sit down in an interview, give me a clear head and plain words. Help me speak about myself without fear, and listen without panic.
Guard me from the voice that says I'm behind, or too old, or not enough. You began a good work in me and You haven't stopped. Establish the work of my hands, whatever that turns out to be.
And while I wait, provide. Daily bread, the way You promised. Amen.
